Retail Custodial/ Merchandiser Associate
We are looking for someone that is a responsible custodian to maintain and protect our store and inventory. The external and internal appearance of our business reflects on customers. As a RETAIL CUSTODIAL/MERCHANDISER ASSOCIATE, you will be keeping our stores clean and safe for Pet Parents, and their Pets. It is important to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the store. All Chico’s associates are responsible for different tasks, but we all help each other and work together for the love of all pets. Our best candidate must love animals, and willing to interact with customers and their companion pet. Having a keen eye for detail and diligence. Being a team player and wearing many hats are also imperative for this position.

Custodial Associate Job Responsibilities:
- Shelve Management, Product care and Store Maintenance
- Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets. Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and cages.
- Gather and empty all trash, dispose in the designated canister outside
- Wipe mirrors ,windows, doors, registers and product displays
- Tidy store shelves providing optimum display of products. Caring for the merchandise by dusting packages ,removing damaged or expired products,
- Ensure that spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
- Maintain adoption center and grooming room hygienic and organized
- Maintain outer premises by cleaning entrances, remove any snow or ice by shoveling/applying pet safe ice melt
- Servicing, cleaning and supplying the janitorial closet area and electrical room area
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)Report major damages and oversee repairs
- Undertake occasional janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)
- Requisitioning supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Duties would also include: Animal Care – This is priority!
Chico’s Adoption Center
- Maintain adoption center and Grooming Saloon Clean and organized
- Care for animals by cleaning cages, sometimes feeding, caring and socializing them (Adoption). Keeping displays and animal enclosures and aquarium spotless
Store Visual/ Merchandising & Inventory maintenance
Product Display /Stock levels & Inventory
- Keep the store clean, tidy and organized
- Maintain inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory, observing inventory levels, prompting store management to reorder when levels appear low.
- Deal with deliveries- Handle responsibilities of updating customers of new orders and estimated delivery schedules
- Help field sales representatives with special promotions by setting-up displays at aisle ends, checking daily on special promotions, observing customer reaction to special promotions, forwarding observations to management, and removing promotions at end of special promotion period.
- Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.
- Enhances merchandising and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Communicate with co-workers, the management, and others to make sure that accurate records are being made of inventory.
- Participate in physical and cycle count inventories
- Make sure that inventory is on route, on shelves and well-stocked to meet customer requirements on time and efficiently
- Assist with other projects, reconciliations, and reporting as assigned.
Education, Experience
- Prior experience or High school diploma is preferred but not required
